Player interview - Beny Kong
◆The key to play darts well◆
1. Your play-style
Stance:
Shoulder parallel to the board and lean forward
Grip: (4fingers, why you choose this style?)
It makes my aiming stable
Throwing:
By the method 0-1-2 (0=Aiming 1=Pull back 2=Throw)
Aiming:
Right eye
What are the steps you do when you approach the throwline?
A short staring on the board, 2 steps to the throw line, take a deep breath, aim and throw
2. Your practice focus point (stance, grip, throwing etc.)
I always make sure my elbow is locked, and the routine of movement (taking back my darts and return to the throw line)
3.What will be your advice for C-flight, B-flight, A-flight player?
C flight Player : Always practice on the correct way of the BASICS (Stance, Gripping and aiming)
B flight Player : Focus on the TARGETING (practice more on simple darts-single count)
A flight Player : TARGETING, and most importantly is MENTAL CONTROL (since A flight player has reach certain skill level)
4.The key to win competitions and the way to overcome the feeling of tension
You could control your RHYTHM by control your breathing. Take a deep breathe while you really nervous, don’t try to throw out your darts while you’re in unstable status. Minds do control our body.
5. Do you have something to tell readers??
Appreciate every chance while you still can play darts, enjoy it! Never afraid of losing or learning from the higher level player, be curious, never limit to yourself!! Cheers!
